This research line focuses on the application and development of methods associated with traditional and unconventional analytical instrumentation to guarantee the quality of inputs, products and co-products in the biofuel production chain. Electrochemical, spectrophotometric, chromatographic, gravimetric, spectrometric, biochemical and statistical techniques are explored to solve analytical problems; data processing applying artificial intelligence methods and variable selection; application of chemometric methods for exploratory and classificatory analysis. Also within the scope of this research line is the use of co-products with a view to adding value, integrating processes, lignocellulosic biorefinery and glycerochemistry.
